Mirror Show Management Employees Donate to CASA
ROCHESTER, NY – Mirror Show Management announced today that it is donating $1,500 to CASA of Rochester/Monroe County Inc., a charity chosen by a vote of Mirror Show employees. Presentation of the check to CASA’s Patricia M. Slimmer, Assistant Director and Laurie A. Holmes, Director will take place at Mirror Show’s annual Invoice Program luncheon on March 28 at MSM’s Webster headquarters.
Each year, Mirror Show’s employees nominate charitable organizations whose work they find compelling, and the company donates a dollar amount equal to the number of invoices it issued in the previous year. CASA – Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children – was nominated at last year’s Invoice Program luncheon by volunteer Sarah Morehouse, art director at Mirror Show. CASA trains citizen volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in foster care and children at risk of entering foster care, striving to ensure that all children have a safe, permanent home as soon as possible. Morehouse has worked at Mirror Show since 2004.
Now in its second year, the Invoice Program selected Melissa’s Living Legacy Foundation for a $1,325 donation last March. "Giving back to the community has always been important at Mirror Show Management, and it’s a cornerstone of our Live Great™ initiative," said Tammy Wilkes, HR manager. "But the Invoice Program goes a step further by encouraging employees to take ownership of the charitable work taking place in our community and to promote that work to colleagues."
At the annual luncheon, an employee who submits a nomination must give a brief presentation describing why he or she considers the organization deserving. The Invoice Program is just one facet of Mirror Show’s Live Great™ initiative, which features free weekly classes at the company’s on-site fitness center, Weight Watchers and Step Up programs, and regular participation with local not-for-profit groups.
