MSM Donates to Local Charity
Mirror Show Management will be presenting a donation of over $1,300 to Melissa’s Living Legacy Foundation this afternoon at Lifetime Care, 3111 Winton Rd. S. This donation is a part of MSM’s Live Great™ program that focuses on employee health and well-being as well as on giving back to the community.
On an annual basis, MSM selects a charity based on a company-wide vote to receive a donation for each invoice that MSM creates during the year. Melissa’s Living Legacy Foundation (MLLF) is the recipient of the 2006 donation.
“Live Great is a series of programs designed to make MSM a better place to work, and to provide ways for us to give back to the Rochester community,” commented Tammy Wilkes, Human Resources Manager and creator of the Live Great™ program at MSM. “The donation to Melissa’s Living Legacy is just one of many programs throughout the year that our employees support to help others. We look for programs that provide substantial benefit to the community where our support can help make an impact.”
“On behalf of the thousands of teens with cancer whom we support, I extend my deepest thanks to the Mirror Show Management team for their generous donation. It is heartening to be the recipient of such corporate good-will and community spirit,” said Lauren Spiker, Founder of Melissa’s Living Legacy Foundation. “This gift will support production of a new end-of-life resource for teens called “The Road I Followed”. With the help of trained health-care professionals, teens will now have a way to express their hopes and wishes before they die while reflecting on a life well-lived. Through their corporate giving program, Mirror Show Management has become, in a special way, part of Melissa’s living legacy and we are very grateful.”

About Teens Living with Cancer
The Teens Living with Cancer organization of Melissa’s Living Legacy Foundation (MLLF) seeks to improve the quality of life for all impacted by adolescent cancer – teens with cancer, their families, friends, and health care providers. Inspired by the life of Melissa Sengbusch who died in June 2000, at age 19 of acute myeloid leukemia, MLLF’s vision is that all teens with cancer have opportunities for life-affirming experiences throughout each stage of their disease. Just days before she died, Melissa asked her mother, Lauren Spiker, founder of MLLF, to make her a promise. “If you’ve learned anything from me through all of this,“ Melissa said, “promise me you will do something with it to make a difference – to make things better.” With the help of many dedicated supporters, Lauren is keeping her promise.
